The malware was the old pop-up ad saying something to the effect that “your computer has problems, click here to download software to fix it, only $79.95,” and the software to “fix” the problem actually creates one. The malware has since been cleaned up.
“There was one line of code inserted into the page which loaded content from a site in Romania,” Runald said. Atha’s site runs WordPress, but an older version, he said. Rather than an attack carried out by anyone targeting Atha specifically, Runald thinks the attack was more likely carried out by an automated process that detected Atha’s blog after the surge in links to it via Twitter. “They wanted to get a free ride from all the traffic he was getting.”
Meanwhile, there’s also a scam-ad appearing on Facebook that advertises “Osama Bin Laden killed live on a news broadcast.” I could swear I’ve seen that one before. Either way, Websense says don’t click on it. Just don’t.

MANILA, Philippines – Newest YouTube sensation Arjohn Gilbert dreams of releasing his own album someday.

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino boxer Rey Saludar won the country’s 3rd gold medal in the 16th Asian games in Guangzhou, China.
Saludar narrowly beat Yong Chang of China, 13-11, in the Men’s 52 kg gold medal bout at the Foshan Gymnasium.
Chang took a 2-1 lead over the Filipino in Round 1.
Fortunately, Saludar battled back with a flurry of punches in the 2nd Round, scoring 9 points against the Chinese’s 3 for a 10-5 lead.
Chang scored 6 more points in Round 3, but it was not enough to outscore the Filipino who played safe with 3 points.
Saludar’s victory brought the Philippines’ medal haul to 3 golds, 3 silvers and 9 bronzes.

MGM studio files for bankruptcy, Icahn backs plan

NEW YORK – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday, marking a climax to a drawn-out restructuring for the storied Hollywood studio that controls the James Bond films and made "The Wizard of Oz."
The Chapter 11 filing follows last week’s vote by creditors to support a "prepackaged" bankruptcy in which MGM will shed more than $4 billion of debt and hand control to its secured lenders.
MGM was founded in 1924 and is known for its roaring lion logo. It has produced, released, or controls many of Hollywood’s best-known films, including "Ben-Hur" and the Pink Panther and Rocky film series.
Under the bankruptcy filing, mManagement would be assumed by Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum Replica watches, who run the Spyglass Entertainment film company.
MGM filed for protection from creditors after striking an agreement with Carl Icahn, one of its largest debtholders, to win the billionaire’s support for a restructuring.
Icahn previously supported a bid to merge MGM with another studio, Lions Gate Entertainment. MGM also said its secured lenders overwhelmingly support the reorganization.
Spyglass’ involvement with MGM has also been seen as key to a lucrative arrangement with Warner Bros Pictures and the director Peter Jackson to make two movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel "The Hobbit."
Cutting debt, raising capital
The MGM reorganization calls for secured lenders including Credit Suisse and JPMorgan Chase to swap more than $4 billion of debt for equity, giving them ownership of most of a reorganized company.
MGM has struggled with too much debt since 2005 when it was sold in a $2.85 billion leveraged buyout.
MGM said it expects a federal bankruptcy judge to approve the restructuring in about 30 days.
The Los Angeles-based company and roughly 160 affiliates sought protection from creditors with the U.S. bankruptcy court in Manhattan.
MGM had $2.67 billion of assets and $3.45 billion of liabilities as of September 30, a court filing shows.
Stephen Cooper, MGM’s co-chief executive, in a statement said the reorganization will improve MGM’s finances by "sharply reducing" debt and providing access to new capital.
MGM said it expects to raise $500 million upon emerging from bankruptcy to fund operations Replica handbags, including the production of films and TV series.

Icahn said the plan calls for MGM to adopt a series of corporate governance changes, and give him the right to appoint a board director once the company emerges from bankruptcy.

Spyglass films have included "The Sixth Sense" in 1999 and "Dinner for Schmucks" earlier this year.
Lions Gate had proposed a merger with MGM that would have given creditors a 55 percent stake in the combined company.
Icahn is also conducting a hostile takeover bid for Lions Gate. That company is separately suing Icahn, alleging he interfered with its efforts to merge with MGM.
A Lions Gate spokesman declined to comment. Lions Gate has produced the hit TV show "Mad Men" and the Oscar-winning film "Precious." It has offices in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Former Sugababes star Buchanan also sang at the event and wowed Lewis with her vocals.
In a post on Twitter.com after the fair, Lewis wrote, “Keisha Buchanan absolutely killed it! Her voice is stunning! I’m excited to hear her new music, she sang with just guitar and blew us away… thank u (sic) so much for performing at Hopefield Essex… your (sic) an angel.”
The centre, which houses around 200 animals, needs to raise $1.6 million (£1 million) to secure its future.
